Hubert began his choreographic studies at Mudra International from 1983 to 1986 under the direction of Maurice Béjart. Dancer at Mudra Junior (direction Jan Nuts), he performed in companies in Holland and Belgium. He continued his training with Alvin McDuffie, dancer and trainer at Alvin Ailey, and Félix White, disciple of Katherine Dunham. Dancer at the Dance Theater of Harlem in New York from 1988 to 1992, he participated as a guest artist at the opera “Porgy and Bess” at the Metropolitan Opera.
He also performed at Vermont Ballet and Contemporary Ballet (direction J. Brown). Back in France, he intervened in various training centers while continuing his career as a dancer: In Vivo Company, Calabash, among some others. He choreographed for several companies and training centers: For Nuts, Ballet School of Zurich, Dance Academy of Tilburg. Holder of the C.A, Hubert Petit-Phar strives to link the performance with the public, by proposing choreographic awareness workshops in France, in Europe, particularly in Africa and the west indies (Guadeloupe).
